For centuries, roses have been a symbol of love. Especially on Valentine’s Day where gift choices consist of a bouquet of roses or a box of chocolates in a heart-shaped box.  But roses aren’t only pretty, they equally possess a multitude of benefits for your skin.

The ones that we often see is rose oil, rosehip oil, and the use of rose petals.  Here are a few easy tricks to do yourself in order to include rose petals into your beauty routine.

How to use rose petals for their skincare benefits

for those who have oily skin…

A bath of rose petals

Mix 1/2 cup of rose petals with a handful of mint and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. This bath will help to remove excess oil and prevent imperfections

Anti-imperfection face mask

Mix crushed rose petals with powdered sandalwood, add a little bit of rose water, and a tablespoon of honey, which will allow you to make a paste. Then, apply it to your face and neck like a mask. Let it dry for 15 minutes and rinse with cold water.

to hydrate the skin….

Honey and rose mask

Soak 6 to 8 rose petals for an hour and crush them into a bowl. Mix 1 tablespoon of natural yogurt and 1 teaspoon of raw honey with the rose petals, then apply the mask to your face. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes then rinse.

Rose soothing facial cleanser 

Let 8 to 10 rose petals soak in 4 spoonfuls of filtered water for 3 hours. Crush the petals in water and add 2 tablespoons of honey. Mix and apply it to your face for 20 minutes, then rinse.

for a soft exfoliation…

Soak the rose petals into water for 30 minutes then crush them and mix them with oats. Gently rub this mix on your neck and face. Once you are done with the exfoliation, add a little bit of rose water onto cotton balls and apply that to your neck and face.
